Stainless Steel Tables – omcan

Stainless steel tables are essential in most restaurants across Canada. We have work tables with undershelves and with backsplashes. If you're looking for an enclosed base, check out our work tables with cabinets, or maybe you're looking for stainless steel folding tables or furniture tables. If not, you've found the right section! And so here is some information about stainless steel tables.

The standard way to differentiate tables is based on their stainless steel material: economy tables are made of 16-18 gauge stainless steel; medium duty tables are made of 14-16 gauge steel; and heavy duty tables are made of 14 gauge steel. Take this into consideration when considering what kind of work you’re going to do on the table.

With an economy table (16-18 gauge) you're going to be okay to do manual prep tasks, like preparing food by hand. With a heavy duty table (14 gauge) you're going to be able to set countertop cooking equipment on it, or do pretty heavy prep work on it. With a medium-duty table, you'll be okay somewhere in between those two things. It's not an exact science, but you should be careful to not be damaging your table.

Some higher quality tables also are welded together, giving them a tougher structure.

Backsplashes and undershelfs are the two most common options for stainless steel work tables. A backsplash can be nice to help protect the wall behind your table. And an undershelf can be useful to have a little extra space to store some items.

One final thing to note: some stainless steel tables are just stainless steel on top, and the rest of the table will be galvanized. If you want an entirely stainless steel table, check out our "All" stainleess steel tables.
