Dough Dividers & Dough Rounders

If you’ve got a bakery, or if you’ve got a pizza shop, or really, if you’ve got any business that uses a lot of their own dough, then you’ll probably need a dough divider and rounder. A dough divider will divide your dough into even portions, so that you don’t have to go through the laborious task of measuring it out and cutting it all by yourself. Needless to say, this can save a lot of time in a busy bakery, because the process can become nearly automatic. So you will find these appliances in most bakeries across Canada. (Also see our Dough Sheeters section.)

Some dough dividers will be more automatic than others. We have some manual dividers and some automatic ones. Ask yourself: how much dough will you be making? If you have a high-volume bakery, and you don’t have the time (or energy!) to be manually dividing all your dough, then go with an electric dough divider, and it can handle the brunt of the work.

We also have dough rounders available. These machines will take your portioned dough and roll it around into a perfect ball. Again, this can save you an enormous amount of labour. Just toss the dough in there and it’ll take care of the rest.

Now, if you want to get really fancy, you can get a dough divider-rounder, this will do both processes and turn them into one simple task. Throw your dough in and the machine will divide it and round it.

Some other considerations you should make before your purchase: how big will your batches of dough be, and how many batches will you be making an hour, and how many batches will you be making a day? If you’ve got a spiral mixer or a planetary mixer, look at their capacity. You don’t want a huge mixer and a tiny rounder! You won’t be very efficient like that. So you want to be making sure that all your dough equipment will be working well together.

If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by all these considerations, we’d love to help you out. We’ve been selling bakery and pizza equipment for over 30 years, so we like to think we know what we’re talking about. Call us toll free at 1-855-388-599 or email us and we’d be glad to help you out.
